Back To Real Life

I am back to the world of blogging. I have much to blog about and little time to do so. I feel like I'm running behind with everything in my life. The extra sad part of this is, I just got back from spring break. You would think after having a week off, I would be cruising through life stress-free.
Speaking of spring break. It was. . .splendid. Amazing. Unforgettable. I would go on another cruise in a heartbeat. The ship was like its very own city on the water. I found myself wanting to interview all the workers and find out their life story. I wanted to know everything about the ship and how they carried things out. I may just have to do some research on cruises in the future. Perhaps I'll HAVE to go on another cruise in order to really get my research done. Ha ha!
I also loved Mexico. The little towns we toured were the sweetest.
Besides the cruise, the food, the sun, and the beaches. . . .another wonderful thing happened to me during spring break.
I AM ENGAGED!!!!
My pal, Mr. Brian Weller, proposed to me in the sand and sun of Cabo San Lucas. It was a dream. A dream come true. We have now been engaged a week, but people have just been finding out. It was difficult to let anyone know while we were on international waters, so turns out we had a bit of a secret engagement for a few days. Exciting, right?
I have decided the best way to do my trip justice, is to write a blog entry for each day we were on the cruise. I won't blog about the days we traveled to get there, just the days on the ship.
Yes, this means you will have to wait for Day 4 of my trip to hear the whole proposal story.

Five Feel Goods

I am just feelin' fine in every single way possible.

Besides the fact that I am now officially on spring break, and besides the fact that I am leaving town in a few hours, and besides the fact that I'll be floating around on a wonderful ship down south by Mexico all week. . . .here are five other things currently making me feel oh so good!

This wonderful stuff is called injera. It is a traditional Ethiopian dish. I guess they look similar to some kind of tortilla. To eat it, you tear pieces off and eat different meats with it. Most Americans don't seem to enjoy it much, but I LOVE it!!! Especially now, since it is a rarity when I get to actually eat it. This past week, I went to an Ethiopian birthday party. It was so great to see friends that are passionate about changing things in Africa, as well as fill my tummy with injera.

Last weekend, a huge snowstorm hit Logan. I didn't mind much, since I knew I would be escaping to warmth the following week. Besides, doesn't the snow look so pretty falling around downtown Logan?

Don't mind my manly feet. These gladiators are some of my favorite shoes I have ever owned. They are starting to get very worn out, which I was sad about. Then BWell surprised me by hunting down a second pair. This means I don't have to be so fragile with my first pair, since I now have a backup!

I don't usually wear bikinis. I had one when I was about five and one when I was about eleven. The one when I was eleven hardly qualifies as a bikini. It looked like I was wearing a sports bra for a top. Both times I owned one, I still had a little girl body. But I bought one special for the cruise. I think my mom was a little bit shocked when I told her, but come on Mom, look how cute it is! Yellow just makes me happy. Between the yellow ruffle top and the pineapple bottoms, I am all set for a wonderful week by the pool and on the beach. I bought this suit at delias. They are having sales on their swim suits right now, just fyi.

The ocean is gorgeous. To me, it is one of the most magical and powerful things in the world. I am anxious to be spending a solid week with the ocean soon. It has been a while.

Bon Voyage! And for all those college students out there, enjoy your week and be safe.

Hair: My Love-Hate Relationship

My hair. I love it and I hate it.

It's thick. It's frizzy. It's dry. It has a wild mind of its own. It needs to be pampered. It demands expensive shampoo and conditioner which makes me cringe.

I have this habit of wanting to change my hairstyle basically on a weekly basis. Whether I want to cut it or color it.

Sadly. . . .my hair does not take color well and it grows slower than the Aggie shuttle trying to drive up Old Main Hill.

I have been working hard on growing it out. Not too long. I just was shooting for an asymmetrical bob. I was loving the length, but now I am missing my short, spunky hair. I feel as my hair grows longer, I am blending in more and more with the hundreds of other average hairstyle girls. That is just not me. I like having hair that stands out a bit. I like having hair that people either love or they think it looks horrible. Yes, I love extremes! I would rather have people notice my hair and think it looks absurd than have no one notice my hair at all. Plus, I think I am just a short haired kind of girl. So in a frenzy last night, I turned to my dear friend, Google images, and found a breath of fresh air.

Feedback? Should I chop it?
