I have such a loving and supportive community of women in my life. I'm grateful for that. Thanks for being part of my community. <3 Kelsey Keller Weller https://www.blogger.com/profile/11490355299620695779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8136486462952673370.post-64726390457723116042015-03-18T16:32:18.486-06:002015-03-18T16:32:18.486-06:00I'm really glad it could help you. I hope I didn't at all sound like I was belittling motherhood in this post. I think it's such an amazing calling and one I don't take lightly. I'll remember your advice on the hard days. "Be true to what you want and who you are." That's so perfect. It's been a blessing and a huge relief to realize there are indeed others sharing in this experience, going through the same doubts, and fighting the same battles. We really are never alone. What a comfort!

Also, I know a great number of mothers who are able to work and still be at home caring for their children. You could totally do it and do it well if it's what you truly want. You're so right, I think we often have the mentality of this or that, choose one or the other. Why not have it all?! I think we are each so capable of becoming everything we want to be and doing everything we want to do. I know we can definitely be the best moms we can be and still chase our own dreams, too. Best of luck to you. I know you'll do amazing things in whatever you decide to pursue. We all experience different things at different times in life. We are all learning and growing in our own way. And that's great! That's what makes life interesting. I've been doing this nearly 8 years and I still sometimes feel like I am wasting my abilities and education (although this is not true). Be true to what you want and who you are. You won't regret it. I've been married for almost a couple of years and often feel the pressure to have kids as well. And like you, I'm highly motivated and have dreams of my own. The only thing that differs with me is that I really want kids eventually, and have always known that I want to be a mother. Not only that but I've always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, devoting all my time to the development of my kids. What I'm now realizing though, after graduating and starting my career, is that I also really want to continue pursuing my dreams and professional career. But some sort of societal stigma has made me think that I can only have one or the other and that doing both means no real dedication on either end. I know this stigma is changing and that there are many moms who are living their dreams while rearing children, but I still get confused, worried and anxious about it all. I think you're definitely right in that it's something that you and God figure out together and figure out what works best for your situation. Thanks for having the courage to share, Kelsey! You're not alone in this! :)Alliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05730115026046597168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8136486462952673370.post-76018377718355598182015-03-12T11:52:38.471-06:002015-03-12T11:52:38.471-06:00You're spot on. I've always wanted to be a wife but I've never had the career goal of being a mother and people don't understand that. Sure, I want kids but I have no idea when. We all gotta do what we gotta do but it's hard to shrug off all the criticism all the time but we got this. :)Samanthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01395905037088285033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8136486462952673370.post-65617831658900960872015-03-12T11:51:02.090-06:002015-03-12T11:51:02.090-06:00Bravo!!!
